Hardness Puncture Adapter

The FG-M6PUNCTURE-ST accessory is designed to be used with a Nidec-Shimpo FGV or FGE digital force gauge to measure the hardness puncture resistance of different materials.

This accessory is threaded to the sensor head of a Shimpo force gauge. The outer shell of the FG-M6PUNCTURE-ST retracts as a load is applied with the force gauge to the test material. As the retraction of the outer shell occurs, the pin becomes exposed. The puncture test continues until the outer shell comes to a stop from contact with the base of the force gauge. The force reading displayed on the force gauge will indicate the puncture resistance of the test material.

  • Examples of materials to test: Gypsum-type wall board, foam, cardboard, cork, fruit & vegetable ripeness, tubing, membranes, baked goods and more.
  • For use with Nidec-Shimpo Force Gauges with M6 male threaded connection from 2 -100 lb capacities.
  • Best performance within the 20-100 lb range. Applicable Models: FGE-20XY, FGV-20XY, FGE-50XY, FGV-50XY, FGE-100XY, FGV-100XY.
